The officer who registers documents — deeds are executed before them, ECs issue from their office, and the 22-A list is enforced at their counter.

"SRO" does duty for both the officer and the Sub-Registrar's office. Under the integrated system the SRO's registration of agricultural land feeds straight into mutation, which is why registration and revenue can no longer blame each other in quite the old way.
