MEANING

The Sub-Registrar's certified extract of every registered transaction touching a property over a period — the buyer's first due-diligence paper.

Shows registered sales, mortgages, gifts and attachments. Its limit is the word "registered" — sada bainama sales, unregistered possession and revenue-record defects never appear, so a clean EC is necessary but not sufficient.
