MEANING

The 2020 amnesty for plots in unapproved layouts — some 25 lakh applications, frozen for years, now being cleared.

Applications run through a four-level flow — portal scrutiny (with one per cent going to the Tahsildar for random government-land verification), town planning, Municipal Commissioner, and the Additional Collector (Local Bodies) for layout-level approvals. Plots in FTL, buffer or prohibited lands are refused; a fee-rebate window ran mid-2026 for pending cases.
