Mutation
MEANING
Changing the record of rights — moving land from one name to another after sale, succession or court order.
Under Bhu Bharati: registered transactions mutate automatically at registration; succession goes to the Tahsildar with notice and enquiry (30-day clock, deemed mutation on default); court-decree and assignment cases go to the RDO.
