The new village-level revenue officer created in 2025 — the working successor to the VRO.

10,954 GPO posts were created by G.O. Ms. 41 of 22-03-2025 to support Bhu Bharati; about 3,550 ex-VROs/VRAs were appointed from June 2025, with direct recruitment for the rest in the pipeline. Where there is no GPO yet, the RI covers the village.
