MEANING

The Special-Grade Deputy Collector who runs the Collectorate's day-to-day — head of the office and its lettered sections.

The DRO supervises sections A to H, vets the district's revenue casework, and is usually the Additional District Magistrate for routine business. For a probationer, the DRO is the mentor inside the Collectorate.
