Sub-Division
MEANING
The splitting of a survey number into separately-held parcels, each with its own letter or number.
A sub-division needs paimaish and a fresh tippan; a sale of two acres out of five that never reached the surveyor is one of the commonest record mismatches. The promised resurvey under Bhu Bharati is largely an exercise in catching decades of unrecorded sub-divisions.
