Record Room
MEANING
Where disposed files rest by retention class — the office's memory, and the first casualty of neglect.
Disposals go to record by their L/R/D class and are fetched back on requisition; periodic weeding destroys what may be destroyed. A district record room's old misals decide title cases — which is why its dust is worth an inspection.
