MEANING

The head of a Collectorate section — the sergeant of the Tottenham system, between the dealing hands and the officers.

Each lettered section runs on a Superintendent supervising senior and junior assistants. They scrutinise every note before it climbs, and an experienced one is worth reading the DOM twice.
