NALA
MEANING
Non-Agricultural Land Assessment — the conversion of agricultural land to non-agricultural use, on payment of a conversion fee.
Governed by the Agricultural Land (Conversion for Non-Agricultural Purposes) Act 2006. NALA conversion — and its wrong or fraudulent use — is a recurring theme in land files; reversing a wrong NALA entry lies with the Collector under the Bhu Bharati correction rules.
