MEANING

The mandal's elected local body — and, confusingly, the everyday title of its president too.

MPTC members form the parishad and elect its president, who is universally called "the MPP". The MPDO is its executive officer. Reading a sentence like "the MPP attended the MPP meeting" is a rite of passage.
